Scrabble Jingle Jingle Jingle

Hey Everyone

I created a card not long ago with the Jingle Jingle Jing Stamp Set. For some reason I had stamped up a whole heap of extra sentiments. I was determined to use them, so after a bit of thought, I decided to create a scrabble type card that used up a lot of them.

I combined my letters with leaves and holly from the Leaves of Holly Stamp Set. Each of these images were fussy cut out and after a bit of manipulation, I was able to make the leaves work with the scrabble letters.

I also had the ribbon sitting on the desk that had been discarded from another project. I looped this ribbon from the top of the card down the side and adhered with Glue Dots. One Champagne Rhinestone was added for a bit of bling.

Just Add Ink #623

Hey Everyone

It’s Friday so that means a new challenge to play along with over at Just Add Ink. This week is a colour challenge week. Take a look at the colours we have for you:

I combined these colours to create a Christmas card using two stamp sets – Jingle, Jingle, Jingle and Trees for Sale Stamp Set.

The torn notebook edged cardstock was created using a die from the Blossoming Happiness Dies. I love a torn and worn edge to give my cards texture.

The team have created awesome cards with this weeks challenge colours. Head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches #553

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new sketch challenge to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. This weeks amazing sketch has been designed by the wonderfully talented team member, Cecile Ribon.

You can’t go wrong with a Christmas card for this challenge. Christmas will be upon us before we know and I find it’s never too early to start stockpiling festive cards.

I’ve featured images from the Leaves of Holly Stamp Set and dies from the Holly Berry Dies. The leaves have been stamped with a combination of Smoky Slate Ink for the first layer of stamping. I then took the second stamp and inked it up with Basic Gray Ink to stamp the most defined leaf image. These leaves were then fussy cut out.

The berries were stamped with the Real Red and Cherry Cobbler Inks. The second stamp over the top gives the berries definition. Even though there are dies that will cut these out, I actually fussy cut them – mainly because I enjoy the time cutting around images.

I added a strip of Garden Green Cardstock over a blended background with Pool Party Ink and flicked Basic Gray Blend ink. Under the three squares of Basic White Cardstock, I added a strip of Metallic Mesh Ribbon and tied it off on the side with a piece of Linen Thread.

Some leafy diets were cut with Garden Green Cardstock and layered beneath a holly leaf and three Champagne Rhinestones were added.

Here’s my Chrissy card:

Freshly Made Sketches #550

Hey Everyone

There’s a new and fab sketch to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. Our sketch designer is Jen Mitchell. Jen’s creations are gorgeous, so make sure you head over to her blog and be prepared to be wowed!

I really can’t stop using the Season of Chic Stamp Set. It’s so versatile and easy to create with!

My snowflakes were created by laying down some Bermuda Bay Ink with a Water Painter on to Basic White Cardstock. Once I had created a watercoloured area big enough for the snowflake dies and the cardstock had dried, I took my dies and cut out the snowflakes. I made sure they had a good mix of white and blue on each of them.

After I cut the panels to size, I took a Blending Brush, some Pool Party Ink and blended the cardstock. I took some Dimensionals and raised each of the panels up on the card base.

After placing each of the snowflakes on the card, I adhered the sentiments that I chose. The sentiments are from the Jingle, Jingle, Jingle Stamp Set.

Just Add Ink #616

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge over at Just Add Ink for you to play along with. This week is sketch week and I have designed this super simple sketch.

The card I’ve created features images fussy cut from the Boughs Of Holly Designer Series Paper Pack. The circle diecut in the background is also from this pack of DSP. The pink striped circle diecut is from the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper pack. This piece was sitting on my desk and I like the colour combo of pink with the red and green I had chosen.

After layering everything together, I felt the card needed a little more, so I added some gold twine beneath the layers. Lucky I hadn’t stuck it all down!

The background cardstock was given texture with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder and to finish it off, I added three Basic Pearl Rhinestones.

Here’s the card I created:

Just Add Ink #615

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge over at Just Add Ink. This week is inspiration picture week. Take a look at the pic we have for you to craft along with:

I chose to create a Christmas car with gorgeous colours from the pic. I have used the Trees for Sale Stamp Set and the matching Tree Lot Dies. I couldn’t decide what images and dies to use from this bundle, so I kinda threw everyone at it!

I kept my colours as close to the pic as possible, so they were – Crumb Cake, Basic Gray, Smoky Slate and a touch of green in the wreath hanging on the caravan door.

Freshly Made Sketches #544

Hey Everyone

Ready for a new sketch to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches? This week our sketch has been designed by the talented Queen of Backgrounds, Karren Johnson.

Love getting me some new goodies! My recent order consisted of the Boughs of Holly Suite. Oh I am loving everything in this suite!

The pretty papers are from the Boughs of Holly Designer Series Paper pack. This pack has traditional Christmas colours as well as some Gray Granite.

The leaf images are from the Leaves of Holly Stamp Set. I’ve stamped the leaves in Crumb Cake Ink and then Mossy Meadow Ink over the top. The leaves were then fussy cut out.

The branches of holly have been coloured with Cherry Cobbler and Mossy Meadow Blends. There are 20 of the holly branches in the Textural Elements. The sentiment I’ve used is from the Leaves of Holly Stamp Set also. This sentiment has been die cut with a die from the matching Holly Berry Dies.

Lastly, a Gray Granite Ribbon bow was added as I love my cards being OTT in detail.

Just Add Ink #586

Hey Everyone

Welcome to my first blog post for 2022 and the first challenge for Just Add Ink for 2022. We have a fun challenge for you and it’s a blog hop. Our team have created projects for this hop using the following theme:

When I saw this challenge, I knew I wanted to create a card with a combination of colours from the inspiration picture.

This card started with the DSP that I chose for my card as it had a lot the colours from the pic. This DSP is from the Friendly Hello Designer Series Paper pack – which is part of a Sale-A-Bration incentive with the Friendly Hello Bundle. This bundle can be yours free when you spend $180 during the SAB period.

The stamp set these cut little images are from is called the Easter Friends Stamp Set. I’ve given them colour with a combination of all my yellow blends. You can’t get more summer-y than these yellow cuties.

Once I started layering all my elements together, I felt my card was a little plain, so I gave the Basic White Cardstock some Pool Party Ink shading and cut a Garden Green Cardstock tree diecut with the Majestic Mountain Dies.

A strip of ribbon from the 1/8″ Cotton Ribbon Pack. I knotted the ribbon and one end and tucked under the side of the cardstock. I then adhered the right side with glue dots.

Three little Polished Dots placed around the card finished it off.

Click here or on the button below to take you to the next person on the hop, my creative crafty friend Chantell!

We would love it if you could play along with our summer-y challenge. Once you complete hopping around, make sure you head over to Just Add Ink and link up a project.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #511

Hey Everyone

There’s a new sketch to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch has been designed by the wonderfully talented Linda Callahan.

Take a look a her fabulous sketch:

I had these pinecones already stamped laying on my desk. Love using up discarded images from other projects. However, using up these two pinecones, didn’t make a dent in the amount of stuff that is waiting to be used up! These leaf and pinecone images are from the Christmas Season Stamp Set. The pinecones are stamped in Soft Suede and Sahara Sand Inks. The leaves have been stamped in Evening Evergreen Ink.

The texture that I’ve given my Sahara Sand Cardstock is from the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. I wanted a detailed background beneath the images. I created this by taking my Light Pale Papaya Blend and added colour to the cardstock. I then decided I wanted some matching ribbon. I didn’t have one on hand, so I took the same blend and White Crinkled Seam Binding and gave it colour.

To tie in more of the Pale Papaya, I added a torn offcut of Pale Papaya Cardstock under the sentiment. I then added three Basic Rhinestones for the bling I wanted for my Christmas card.

Here’s my card

Global Design Project #316

Hey Everyone

A weekend at home and I was finally able to catch up with some crafting and even managed to create a card for the latest challenge at Global Design Project.

This weeks challenge is to CASE the Designer, the super talented Stesha Bloodhart! Stesha makes divine cards and as you can see below, the card we are CASEing is really divine.

I don’t mind a bit of roughed up edges for my cards. It creates a bit of a vintage look that I love.

I roughed up the edges of both the Basic White Cardstock and DSP from the Penguin Playmates DSP. I then had to hand cut the circle as I have no idea where my circles dies have hidden themselves – the roughed up edges hide the fact that it’s not a perfect circle. To create a somewhat snowy background, I flicked the Dark Soft Suede Blend on to the cardstock and used a Blending Brush to add to some shading about the cardstock.

I took some Kraft Cardstock and cut two trees with the Majestic Mountain Dies. These dies are my go-to when I want trees for Christmas cards. I then stamped the snowman from the Snow Wonder Stamp Set. I gave the snowman colour with my Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Fresh Freesia Blends.

The sentiment I’ve fussy cut is from the Snow Wonder Stamp Set. This sentiment is one stamp, but I’ve cut it in to two sentiments so that I could layer them separately – I think it creates balance to my layers.

The final thing I added was a Gold Ribbon and Linen Thread detail.

Here’s my card:
