Just Add Ink #773

Hey Everyone

This weeks challenge at Just Add Ink is a sketch challenge. Sketch challenges are the best as half the work is already done for you when you sit down to create a card.

Here’s the sketch we have for you to play along with:

I used this weeks sketch to add to my Christmas cards as I realised how close Christmas has become. I stamped up some trees from the Ornamental Christmas Stamp Set as well as fussy cut a tree from the Modern Christmas DSP pack and layered them with a sentiment from the Ornamental Christmas Stamp Set. I then tied a double bow with some twine from the Old Olive and Early Espresso Linen Thread Pack to create the bow from the sketch. To add a little somethin extra I added some diecuts from the Just A Notes Dies for more details.

The team at Just Add Ink have created wonderful cards with this sketch, so make sure you pop over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #711

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge for you to play along with over at Freshly Made Sketches. This week is a sketch challenge designed by the wonderfully talented Kim Singdahlsen.

The Lovely Florals Stamp Set has been sitting uninked on my desk so I brought it out and gave it some love. I paired it with the bright and sunny Daffodil Delight Cardstock and a piece of Floral Delight Designer Series Paper.

To add some interest to the Basic White background, I took a stamp from the Elements of Text Stamp and randomly stamped it in Smoky Slate Ink and flicked some Dark Smoky Slate Blend also.

To add even more yellow I added some yellow ribbon that I had sitting as an offcut on my desk that I was glad to use this up instead of it going to waste.

The team have created a whole heap of awesome. So make sure you head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what the team have created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #710

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday, so that means a new sketch challenge to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. Our sketch designer this weeks is none other than Linda Callahan who is the creator of wonderful cards with awesome details and designs.

I have again reached for the Sunrise Sailing Stamp Set and matching Sunrise Sailing Dies as I thought they’d work really well with the sketch Linda had created. I added some watercoloured torn waves and stamped birds to the scene to add a fullness I like to my masculine cards.

The team have created fab cards using Linda’s sketch. Make sure you pop over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #772

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge over at Just Add Ink for you to play along with. This week is a colour challenge. These colours lend to a Halloween card, but I decided to go against that and go with a floral card instead.

I created my card using the flowers from the Gallery Blooms Stamp Set. I colours my leaves and flowers with a combination of blends and fussy cut the images out. I then stamped the background with an image from the Lovely Florals Stamp Set to add a bit of interest to the background. I then flicked some ink also for a bit of something to the background.

When I have a lot of colours that I am unsure how to combine, I always keep a lot of white space and add small touches of the challenge colours so they don’t become too overwhelming.

The team at Just Add Ink have created wonderful projects that will inspire you, so make sure you head over to the challenge and see what the team have created.

I need a man card so I thought it was time to bring out the Sunrise Sailing Stamp Set and matching Sunrise Sailing Dies. I created a bit of an oceanic sailing boat scene and added some Irregular Weave Trim and adhered it down with Glue Dots.

Just Add Ink #771

Hey Everyone

Thanks for joining us here at Just Add Ink! We’re so excited to share with you the first challenge of our new format and hope you’ll embrace the changes and have a ton of fun creating.

For challenge #771 we have expanded our regular Choose Two to now be Choose Two or More! You can use as many of the listed options as you like to feature on your projects, as long as it’s at least two, and don’t forget to tell us in your post which ones you chose. You’ll also have more time to create as we’ve moved from a weekly to bi-weekly (every two weeks) challenge!

I’ve chosen Plants, Pretties and Plaid for my Two or More for this challenge. The images I’ve stamped, watercoloured and fussy cut are from the Gallery Blooms Stamp Set. I then added some diecut leaves from the Charming Day Dies for a dramatic effect under the images as I felt them lacking just by themselves against the DSP.

The team at Just Add Ink have created awesome projects for this challenge, so make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

I have flipped Judy’s sketch to fit the dino theme i created. I have come up with this card for a special great niece whose 3rd birthday is coming up as she is addicted to dinosaurs at the moment. I have coloured up images from the Darling Dinos Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up! and added some trees from a retired set that I can’t quite remember the name of atm… Hope she likes it as I had fun creating it for her.

Just Add Ink #770

Hey Everyone

Welcome to Friday and the newest challenge at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge for you is a colour challenge. Take a look at the pretty colour combo we have for you to play along with:

Of course I went with flowers as they were the easy choice. A I couldn’t use green, I kept the leaves white. These leaves were diecut with leaf dies from the A Charming Dies. The flower images were stamped from the Gallery Blooms Stamp Set and coloured with all three challenge colours and fussy cut out. I layered them amongst the leaves and added a sentiment. To add some texture, I embossed some rectangle pieces of cardstock and raised them up on Dimensionals.

The team have created wonderful cards to inspire you. Make sure you head over to Just Add Ink and see what they team have come up with.
