Freshly Made Sketches #724

Hey Everyone

It’s already Wednesday again so that means it’s times for a new sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch hostess is my Canadian walker friend Jennifer Brum. Jen creates gorgeous cards that are just as awesome as her sketches!

I went florals. Mainly because the flower images kinda matched the circles on Jen’s sketch. Circles ,who by the way, Jen used to not love on sketches….The flowers I’ve stamped up and coloured in are from the Simply Beautiful Stamp Set. I let the flowers shine on the card and only gave the background a tad of background stamping and shading to the white cardstock. The stamping was created with a script stamp from the Element of Text Stamp Set. You can slightly see the script peaking on each side of the images.

Here’s the card that I created using her sketch:

Just Add Ink #779

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge for you to play along with at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge is a sketch challenge. Here’s our sketch for you to start your cards off with:

I haven’t had a chance to play with the Fragrant Layers Stamp Set yet so I used this sketch challenge to use it for the first time. I coloured up the flowers with a combination of blends and watercolor pencils and fussy cut the images out. I then added some diecuts from the Natures Symphony Dies to add extra details to the card. The square piece of white cardstock in the background has been stamped with the Lasting Linen Stamp in Crump Cake. I love this stamp as is acts like DSP when you stamp it in a colour to match your colour scheme. I then added a Linen Thread bow and some Basic Rhinestones and a sentiment.

The team at Just Add Ink have created awesome inspiration for you. Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what the team have created for you.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #721

Hey Everyone

There is a new sketch challenge for you to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch hostess is the wonderfully talented Jen Mitchell.

The card i have created features blooms from the Simply Beautiful Stamp Set, because you know I have to have a flower stamp set that i can colour. I’ve used all of my yellow blends for these flowers and my Old Olive Blends for the leaves and fussy cut them all out. For a little extra detail, I die cut some leaves in Old Olive Cardstock witth the Natures Symphony Dies and added them to my card. I created a black and white faux DSP strip by cutting black and white strips of cardstock and adhered them on an offcut strip of cardstock and layered it on the card base. The card base was stamped with ones of the ink splatters stamp from the Gears and Textures Stamp Set. By adding these splatters, I think it softens the background a little with all that white space.

The team have created awesome inspiration for you. Make sure you head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what they’created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #777

Hey Everyone

Welcome to the first challenge at Just Add Ink for 2026. Our challenge for you is to:

Our first challenge as always is a blog hop, so make sure you grab a cuppa and visit the design teams blogs and check out what we have designed for this challenge.

I chose a summery beachy theme for my birthday card. As soon as I saw the Shell Collecting Stamp Set from the Stampin’ Up! January-April 2026 Mini Catalogue I knew I had to get it as I love a shell stamp set. I kept a very neutral colour scheme and added some Irregular Weave Trim to the layers. I also added a piece of Country Woods DSP as it worked with the neutral theme I was going for. The coral die cuts I’ve added were created with the retired Ocean Friends Dies as the shells felt a bit bare without the coral.

The next blog to visit on our hop is the super talented Nikki Spencer. Click here or on the button below to take you to her blog:

If you get lost along the way or wish to start the hop again, you can click here to take you back to the Just Add Ink Challenge.

Freshly Made Sketches #713

Hey Everyone

Welcome to the newest challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch designer is the super sweet Jen Brum. Jen is not only a super sweet chick, she is an amazing hiker – something that I admire – from the other side of the world….Less strenuous this way.

This card has been created for my niece as she is celebrating her 21st birthday in a couple of weeks time. I have coloured the butterfly, from the Beautiful Butterflies Stamp Set, in vibrant blue and added some diecuts made with the Charming Day Dies. I added some background stamping made with the Element of Texts Stamp Set and added all sort of embellishments to bling it up for her.

The team have created wonderful cards that will inspire you. Head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches #711

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge for you to play along with over at Freshly Made Sketches. This week is a sketch challenge designed by the wonderfully talented Kim Singdahlsen.

The Lovely Florals Stamp Set has been sitting uninked on my desk so I brought it out and gave it some love. I paired it with the bright and sunny Daffodil Delight Cardstock and a piece of Floral Delight Designer Series Paper.

To add some interest to the Basic White background, I took a stamp from the Elements of Text Stamp and randomly stamped it in Smoky Slate Ink and flicked some Dark Smoky Slate Blend also.

To add even more yellow I added some yellow ribbon that I had sitting as an offcut on my desk that I was glad to use this up instead of it going to waste.

The team have created a whole heap of awesome. So make sure you head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what the team have created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #772

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge over at Just Add Ink for you to play along with. This week is a colour challenge. These colours lend to a Halloween card, but I decided to go against that and go with a floral card instead.

I created my card using the flowers from the Gallery Blooms Stamp Set. I colours my leaves and flowers with a combination of blends and fussy cut the images out. I then stamped the background with an image from the Lovely Florals Stamp Set to add a bit of interest to the background. I then flicked some ink also for a bit of something to the background.

When I have a lot of colours that I am unsure how to combine, I always keep a lot of white space and add small touches of the challenge colours so they don’t become too overwhelming.

The team at Just Add Ink have created wonderful projects that will inspire you, so make sure you head over to the challenge and see what the team have created.

Just Add Ink #771

Hey Everyone

Thanks for joining us here at Just Add Ink! We’re so excited to share with you the first challenge of our new format and hope you’ll embrace the changes and have a ton of fun creating.

For challenge #771 we have expanded our regular Choose Two to now be Choose Two or More! You can use as many of the listed options as you like to feature on your projects, as long as it’s at least two, and don’t forget to tell us in your post which ones you chose. You’ll also have more time to create as we’ve moved from a weekly to bi-weekly (every two weeks) challenge!

I’ve chosen Plants, Pretties and Plaid for my Two or More for this challenge. The images I’ve stamped, watercoloured and fussy cut are from the Gallery Blooms Stamp Set. I then added some diecut leaves from the Charming Day Dies for a dramatic effect under the images as I felt them lacking just by themselves against the DSP.

The team at Just Add Ink have created awesome projects for this challenge, so make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches #700

Welcome to our 700th sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches!!!!!!! How exciting is that? I played along with the very first challenge at Freshly Made Sketches and I was lucky enough to be chosen to be on the design team from the 76th challenge. Unfortunately my blog when awol for that time, so I can’t find my original post to link to…. But here is a photo of that card I made for my first DT assignment – which btw, I am not loving in 2025… Do you all look back and cards from years ago and say “yeah, nah – I’m not a fan of it anymore?”

The Design Team have decided to re-create cards for this weeks challenge from the very first sketech challenge at FMS. Take a look at the sketch and the card I created for it below.

The Charming Day Stamp Set and Dies got a work out for this card with the background Elements of Text and Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder.

The design team have created wonderful cards for this weeks challenge. We hope you can join us in our 700th sketch challenge!

Thanks for stopping by.
