Freshly Made Sketches #723

Hey Everyone

The newest sketch challenge is here to play along with at Freshly made Sketches. This week our sketch hostess is the wonderfully talented Verena Shapiro. Take a look at her fab sketch:

The card I created features mostly diecuts from the Gears and Textures Dies from Stampin’ Up!. I added some background stamping from the matching Gears and Textures Stamp Set for that bit of grunginess to the card also as I like lots of details for my masculine cards.

The team have created awesome projects. Make sure you pop over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #778

Hey Everyone

It’s Friday, so we have a new challenge for you to play along with at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge for you is to:

From this pic I chose to use both the theme from the inspiration pic and the colours from the colour combination provided. Because sometimes I just like to challenge myself.

The images I’ve stamped and coloured are from the Shell Collecting Stamp Set. I started with three shells and that felt a bit bare, so I kept adding them until I ended up with six of them on my card. To the cluster of shells, I added some coral. These have been cut with a retired die and trimmed the complete diecut to layer amongst the shells. To the background, I randomly stamped a starfish stamp in Crumb Cake Ink on the Crumb Cake Cardstock to act like of a kind of DSP.

The team have created awesome and varied projects using the inspo pic and colours. Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by,

Just Add Ink #777

Hey Everyone

Welcome to the first challenge at Just Add Ink for 2026. Our challenge for you is to:

Our first challenge as always is a blog hop, so make sure you grab a cuppa and visit the design teams blogs and check out what we have designed for this challenge.

I chose a summery beachy theme for my birthday card. As soon as I saw the Shell Collecting Stamp Set from the Stampin’ Up! January-April 2026 Mini Catalogue I knew I had to get it as I love a shell stamp set. I kept a very neutral colour scheme and added some Irregular Weave Trim to the layers. I also added a piece of Country Woods DSP as it worked with the neutral theme I was going for. The coral die cuts I’ve added were created with the retired Ocean Friends Dies as the shells felt a bit bare without the coral.

The next blog to visit on our hop is the super talented Nikki Spencer. Click here or on the button below to take you to her blog:

If you get lost along the way or wish to start the hop again, you can click here to take you back to the Just Add Ink Challenge.

Freshly Made Sketches #712

Hey Everyone

Time for a new sketch to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch designer is my wonderfully talented friend Verena Shapiro. Take a look at her fab sketch:

I couldn’t resist reaching for the Sunrise Sailing Stamp Set for this sketch. Not sure why, but I felt Verena’s sketch would work well to create my nautical themed card. A few clouds, an embossed background, a handmade lifebuoy and some die cut birds and my masculine card was done.

The team, as always have created awesome inspiration for you. Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Take a look at her fab sketch.

I need a man card so I thought it was time to bring out the Sunrise Sailing Stamp Set and matching Sunrise Sailing Dies. I created a bit of an oceanic sailing boat scene and added some Irregular Weave Trim and adhered it down with Glue Dots.

The team have created awesome projects that will inspire you. Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what the team have created.

Freshly Made Sketches #701

Hey Everyone

Welcome to the newest challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch hostess is Jen Brum. Gee I love her sketch as much as I love her!

I instantly thought of a line up of tools when i saw her sketch, so I brought out the Trusty Tools Stamp Set and gave the images some colour and fussy cut them out. I initially layered them to the Basic White Cardstock background and thought it looked a little bland, so I took out the Trusty Tools Dies and diecut the background with the tool plate type die and added some holes to the cardstock. I then flicked some ink over the cardstock as well to dirty it up. From the dies, I then diecut some screws and added them to the mix. Some retired thread was added, just because I could – details are always hard to add for masculine cards.

The team have created wonderful cards for this challenge. Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #678

Hey Everyone

This weeks sketch at Freshly Made Sketches is another awesome one. This week our sketch designer is the wonderfully talented Cecile Ribon.

I thought it was time to create a man card for my stash. The Adventurous Sky Stamp Set was my set of choice. I got my colour on and shaded the plane and clouds with a mixture of blends.

I added a die cut to the background to mimic the splodgy bit on Cecile’s ribon. My splodge spread a bit further than Cecile’s sketch, but it’s kinda close….

Loved seeing what everyone created this week. Make sure you head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what the team have created.

Freshly Made Sketches #676

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch hostess is the fabulously talented Kim Singdahlsen.

Take a look at her fab sketch:

I started with seashells with this card and ended switching it up and replacing shells with coral and a fish.

The coral I’ve added to my card has been created with a die from the Beauty of the Deep Dies. I then added a Blackberry Bliss Cardstock die cut from the Ocean Friends Dies. I then added some a fly and fish image from the Gone Fishing Stamp Set. To the fly, I added some gold twine and layered it over the coral.

The team have created wonderful projects using this weeks sketch. Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #637

Hey Everyone

Welcome to the newest sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch designer is Karren Johnson who is the creator of all things gorgeous.

I am still loving the Seaside Wishes Stamp Set….. I can’t help but want to reach it for it every time I want to create atm…

I’ve combined the following colours for this card – Pretty Peacock, Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie. The squares I’ve added are from a discarded piece of cardstock that i had laying on my desk. This piece was embossed with the Seaside Wishes Hybrid Embossing Folder that was shaded with Pool Party Ink to make the embossed areas stand out.

Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what the team have created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #634

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday, so that means it’s time for a new challenge to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch hostess is the wonderfully talented Kim Siingdahlsen.

This sketch is so cool with its diagonal sentiment. As soon as I saw it, I thought the Adventurous Sky Stamp Set would work well with a combination of plane and clouds.

After colouring both the clouds and plane, I fussy cut out the images and set them aside until I worked out which DSP I would use. The striped piece of DSP is from the Country Lace DSP pack and I thought this neutral piece would work as the perfect base for my layers.

Here’s my card:

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have created awesome projects. Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.
