Just Add Ink #640

Hey Everyone

This weeks challenge at Just Add Ink has been exactly that for me – a challenge. Mainly because I wanted to try something different for me and once I had the idea of doing it, I HAD to follow through until I was finished. Not 100% sure it’s a favourite of mine, but it will do.

I started searching around Pinterest for a card with a surprise detail and came across this really cool video by Laura Volpes.

My idea for my card was born.

I added flowers from the Cottage Rose Stamp Set that have been coloured with Petal Pink and Real Red Blends. The leaves were coloured with both of my Granny Apple Green Blends and fussy cut out.

For the surprise feature, I added a stamped sentiment and flowers from the same stamp set and quickly coloured the flowers in with the Petal Pink Blends.

A die cut sentiment from the Love For You Dies was cut with Basic Black and Basic White Cardstock and added to the top flower because I love details and a certain fullness to my cards.

You can see more of the detail of the flowers and sentiment when the panel is lifted higher. I also took the Light Basic Black Blend and flicked ink across the cardstock as I feel it needed more. I couldn’t stop there – I had to add pearls, a ribbon for the pull tab that has been tied together with a Linen Thread Bow.

Make sure you visit Just Add Ink and check out what the team have created, Their projects are amazing.

Just Add Ink #585

Hey Everyone

It’s Friday, so that means a new challenge at Just Add Ink. This is the final challenge at Just Add Ink before our Christmas break. This week our challenge for you is to:

I’ve made little gifts for Christmas day and to give to friends. Inside the Christmas packaging is an individual chocolate – you can’t go wrong with chocolates, can you?

I’ve used a combination of current and retired products for my chockies. I’ve also combined non traditional colours for all three designs – I really love non traditional colours.

Here are my projects:

The girls at Just Add Ink have created wonderful projects that will no doubt inspire you, so head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Just Add Ink #584

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge over at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge for you is to:

I’ve decorated an Acetate Card Box for my project. The acetate box is perfect to decorate and add a gift card and chocolates for a loved one.

For the inside of the box, I added a sheet of Vellum Cardstock to the front so that you can’t see the gift card and chocolates through the box.

I added a piece of Kraft Cardstock around the edge of the box. This piece wasn’t measured it was just folded around from the front to the back.

On this cardstock I added a doily from the Heart & Home Doilies and two diecut leaves, cut with the Artistic Dies. The doilies will be available in the January – June 2022 Mini Catalogue.

Over this I layered a piece of White Frayed Ribbon- also available from the Mini Catalogue. Some bakers twine was wrapped about the box and tied in a bow.

The sentiment was stamped on Basic White Cardstock and cut with a die from the Tasteful Labels Dies set.

The team have created wonderful projects for this challenge. Head over to Just Add Ink and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #535

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge is for you to:

This challenge had me scratching my head as I don’t have many sets that have magical creatures in them. I had to find an old retired stamp set called New Wonders Stamp Set. This set has images of fairies that would work well for journals. Perfect challenge for me to create journals for my great nieces to go with their Christmas presents!

I personalised these journals using the Playful Alphabet Dies. The first journal has Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape colours. The designer series paper I’ve used on both journals is from the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper pack. I’ve cut Pool Party Cardstock trees with the Pine Woods Dies to create a scene for my fairies. Journals are a great way to use of tons of current and retired ribbons to jazz up the spine of the journals.

I created a Magenta Madness and Melon Mambo coloured journal for my second niece with Pool Party trees and gold gems for that bit of bling that little girls like. Not only little girls – I love me some bling too!

The team at Just Add Ink have created awesome projects using the brief for this challenge. Head over to Just Add Ink and take a look.

Just Add Ink #529

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge is a colour challenge. Take a look at the fabulous colours we have for you to play along with:

I’m loving this colour combo. It’s bright and fun and I thought these colours would work well for a Christmas gift or even a thank you gift.

I’ve decorated a Mini Coffee Cup with a combination of Magenta Madness and Misty Moonlight Cardstock. I used the Warm Wrap Dies to decorate the outside of the cup and added some twine from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack. I added a Whisper White Cardstock leaf die cut that I cut with my Forever Flourishing Dies. The sentiment circle that I’ve added to my cup has been stamped with a sentiment from the Warm Hugs Stamp Set. I added a pink star to the centre of the circle that was cut with a die from the Warm Wrap Dies. The sentiment is adhered to Silver Foil and Misty Moonlight circle die cuts.

I added some chocolates to a Mosaic Gusseted Cellophane Bag that has been tied with the gorgeous Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon. This ribbon fancies up any project and I also added some twine for a bit of colour.

The team at Just Add Ink have created wonderful projects that I know you will love. Pop over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #110

Hey Everyone

This is the sketch we were given this week at Just Add Ink:

The sketch threw me a bit at first, I have to admit.  I decided to whip out a canvas I painted about a year ago and had put aside as I didn’t know how to finish it.  I played around with some crafting stuff that I brought at Paperific from about 2 years ago and this is what I came up:

And some close ups:

Head over to Just Add Ink and check out what the other design team members have created. We’d love to see your projects so if you have time, join in!

Thanks for taking a look.
