I have gone with a shaker card as I think it worked well with the sketch.  Since I took this photo I have pulled apart my card and added way more sequins – it was kind of lacking in sparkle!

A quick and easy card that came together in no time! Believe it or not – my row of sequins is actually straight but I think the light they’ve picked up makes them look crooked.  I’ve stamped the splatters from Gorgeous Grunge in Gold Ink and in real life it’s actually quite sparkly. Can you believe it’s May already?  This year is flying by! I think it’s almost time to start on Christmas cards.

Our sketch hostess this week at Freshly Made Sketches is Cindy Hall. She is not only an awesome card maker, she’s totally lovely too!  Here’s her sketch:

On Sunday I returned from Stampin’ Up!s 2015 Create Inspire Share Event. I was really hoping to show you lots of new projects with goodies I received, as I have done in the past, but apart from a new stamp set that I probably won’t be inking up, the only other new product we received was a pack of this wonderful new designer series pack called Bohemian DSP .  I really do love the colours in this pack. It has a real aztec-y feel.  I am now waiting patiently (kind of) for my first pre-order to arrive so I can get my hands on more new products!

The Card Concept #34

Hey Everyone

I’m back with a second post tonight. This time I’ve created a card for the new challenge at The Card Concept.  Here’s the inspiration pic:

I really love the colours in the picture and tried to match them. I’ve used Blushing Bride and Coastal Cabana.  To achieve my striped tag I inked the inside of my striped embossing folder and ran it through the big shot. I finger walked Dictionary in Blushing Bride over the background and inked up the flowers from Stippled Blossoms.  To finish off my card I used a sentiment from Petite Pairs.

Just Add Ink #260

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge at Just Add Ink and this week I’ve designed the following sketch for you.

Not sure how it happens, but when it’s my turn to create a sketch or colour combo I always stumble when it comes time to put my cards together.  I tend to overthink things. Because I’ve been so focussed on swaps and gifts for Stampin’ Up!s Annual South Pacific Convention that I will be attending next week, I fell back on a safe colour combo – Black and White with pop of colour card – it’s what I always do when I’m in doubt. Here’s what I created:

The Card Concept #33

Hey Again Everyone

I’m back with a second card tonight.  This time I have created a card for this fortnight’s challenge over at The Card Concept.  Here’s our inspiration picture for you:

I to’d and fro’d with this colour combo for ages.  In the end I found the best thing to do was to walk away and come back a day later. I completely threw out the ideas I originally had and started from scratch and my card came together in less than 1/2 hour.  I really love the patterns and shapes in this picture so I tried to carry them over to my shabby card. You may not be able to see it but my pink circle DSP has a subtle chevron pattern to it. It was really hard to photograph.
