Global Design Project #415

Hey Everyone

A weekend at home means I got to craft on both Saturday and Sunday!. The challenge I’ve created my card for is the theme challenge at Global Design Project. This week their theme challenge is Pattern.

I took out one of my masks from the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks and thought I’d try a two toned effect with the shading. The first layer I shaded was Fresh Freesia Ink. I then too my Highland Heather Ink and added touches to the top of each mosaic shape. It took longer than expected….but I liked the effect in the end.

I diecut some leaves from the Textured Floral Dies and diecut two banners from the Nested Essentials Dies. The largest one was cut with Berry Burst Cardstock. To bring more Berry Burst into the card, I matted this decorated piece of cardstock with it.

As I wanted to create a birthday card for a little girl, I took the lion image from the Little Dreamers Stamp Set and coloured it with my Crumb Cake Blends and the star with Berry Burst Blends.

Just Add Ink #674

Hey Everyone

Our latest challenge at Just Add Ink, is for you to create a project using the following colours:

I didn’t know how much I would love this colour combo until i started creating my card. Usually when I have 4 colours that I don’t know how to combine, i keep a mostly white card and add touches of the colours. But this time, I found it really easy to layer/combine these colours.

I think the Night of Flight Stamp Set and the Gorgeously Made Stamp Set/Dies were made for each other. I stamped my butterflies with Black Memento Ink and coloured the butterflies with a combination of Fresh Freesia, Berry Burst and Pretty Peacock Blends. I then took the retired White Gel Pen and added highlights on my butterflies. They were then fussy cut out.

I took a piece of Basic White Cardstock and diecut the edge of it with the book edge die. To this piece, I then placed it on my trimmer and scored lines into the cardstock. I then took the Light Basic Blend and flicked ink on to it from the Light Basic Black Blend.

I embossed the Pretty Peacock Cardstock to add more texture and roughed up all the edges of each piece of cardstock to give a vintage-y feel.

To add gold to my card, I took a leafy die from the Gorgeously Made Dies and cut two of them. To create length to my gold foil leaf, I cut two of them and joined them together. The join of them has been hidden by the sentiment.

Freshly Made Sketches #607

Hey Everyone

There’s a new sketch for you to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. this week our sketch hostess is the fabulously talented Amy O’Neill.

I added leaves and branches created with Autumn Leaves Stamp Set and Autumn Leaves Dies. The stamped leaves have been created by adding markers directly to the stamp. I then huffed on the stamp and stamped the image on to Basic White Cardstock. I then fussy cut the leaves out.

The branches were created with Early Espresso Cardstock and dies from the Autumn Leave Dies. I added two frame diecuts – one with Pecan Pie Cardstock and the second one of Basic White Cardstock – this has a sentiment stamped on it.

Behind the leaves i added a Basic White Cardstock that has been shaded with Crumb Cake Ink and a mask from the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks. I then added some of the gorgeous copper ribbon from the Copper & Natural Ribbon Combo.

The team have created awesome cards that will no doubt inspire you. Head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches #606

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This week it’s my turn to design the sketch. Here’s the sketch I designed for you to play along with:

I received the Merriest Trees Bundle recently and decided this challenge was the one to give the products a run.

I stamped one of the trees from the Merriest Trees Stamp Set in Bubble Bath and Fresh Freesia Inks. The second tree was stamped in Pebbled Path Ink. Both of these trees were cut with the Merriest Tree Dies.

The sentiment from the stamp set was stamped and die cut out with a tree die for something different.

To a little bling to the tree, I took Gold Foil Carstock and cut rows of fights and adhered them to the pink tree.

I then stamped up a combination of the present images from the same stamp set and cut them out with the matching dies.

I took my new Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks, some Bubble Bath Ink and a Blending Brush and shaded the background to add a snowflaked background.

The team have created cards that make my sketch look awesome! Head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what they’ve created.

Just Add Ink #672

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge for you is to:

I have filled my card with pink and purple pansies. These pansy images are from the Pansy Patch Stamp Set. The leaves were cut with Basic White Cardstock and Textured Floral Dies. After choosing the colours for my pansies, I then chose the remainder of my card colours to match them.

I shaded the background behind the pansies with a Blending Brush and an mask from the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks.

The sentiment I added is actually one solid sentiment, but I decided to trim it in half to and layer it in two places over the flowers.

I added some coloured Linen Thread and added a bow on the side of the card. I also had diecut book edge that I had sitting on my desk, so this was added to the card.

The team have created wonderful cards using this weeks sketch, so head over to Just Add Ink and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Global Design Project #412

Hey Everyone

It’s CASE The Designer Challenge at Global Design Project. The gorgeous card we got to CASE is the following gorgeous one from Wilma:

I recently purchased the Autumn Leaves Stamp Set and Autumn Leaves Dies and I thought it work really well with a similar layout to Wilma’s.

I stamped the large leaf from the stamp set, after adding colour with markers, on to Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper. I then added Garden Green and Cinnamon Cider Ink to to the paper and diecut out the smaller leaves with dies.

for the background cardstock, I took the lined dot impression die and embossed the top right hand side and bottom left hand side. I then took Garden Green Ink and a Blending Brush and added colour to each corner. I wasn’t finished there, I added the script stamp from the Gorgeously Made Stamp Set and added stamped it a couple of times so you could see it peaking from under my layers.

I added a diecut label from the Autumn Dies Dies as well as some twig diecuts. I layered my leaves around the label diecut and added a ribbon holder and twine to the side of the card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #604

Hey Everyone

Cecile’s sketch at Freshly Made Sketches is an awesome one! She always designs sketches that creative and I really enjoy the challenge when putting all of my pieces together.

I’ve snuck another leaf on my card than what was on her sketch, but I felt two leaves for two ladybugs worked better for my layout. The leaves, ladybugs and sentiment are all from the Hello Ladybug Stamp Set.

The leaves were already stamped and set aside from another project that I had yet to finish, so they were an easy add to my card. The leaves were stamped in Garden Green Ink and fussy cut out.

The ladybug body was stamped in Highland Heather Ink and the wings have been stamped in Gorgeous Grape Ink. The little flowers I’ve added have been stamped in Fresh Freesia Ink and the centre of them have been coloured with the Dark Fresh Freesia Blend to add depth.

The background of the cardstock has been lightly coloured with the Light Balmy Blue and Light Crumb Cake Blends. I then took the Light Basic Black Blend and flicked ink splatters over the shading.

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have created awesome cards. Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Global Design Project $411

Hey Everyone

There’s a new challenge over at Global Design Project that I managed to create a card for. This week their challenge is to create a project with the theme “outdoors”.

For my outdoors theme, I create a masculine card for a special man in the family. He’s a harley lover so I inked up the Legendary Ride Stamp Set for my card. I played around with a two-toned bike, but in the end, I went with a black bike as it worked better.

This card has been made using all scraps and offcuts on my desk. Gotta love it when you can use up all strips and unused cardstock laying around.

Freshly Made Sketches #603

Hey Everyone

There’s a new sketch for you to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch hostess our fabulously talented carmaker and Queen of Walking Jennifer Brum.

I have had the Earthen Texture Dies for a little while but hadn’t cracked them open as yet. I got them out for this challenge and created a vase of leafy diecuts to fill the vase. I added an embossed background and kept my colour scheme as all neutrals. I added an embossed sentiment that I had previously embossed and set aside.

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have created awesome cards to inspire you. Head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.
