Artisan Design Team Blog Hop – Poinsettia Place Suite

Hey Everyone

Welcome to the latest Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop.  This month we are showcasing projects we’ve made with products from the Poinsettia Place Suite.

All of the products in this suite are AMAZING! I’ve been making a heap of cards with the Poinsettia Place Stamp Set, so this time I wanted to show off the pretty and perfectly coloured poinsettias that you can trim from the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper pack.  I also trimmed the leafy stem and pine cones images from the DSP and adhered them to my card.  The large leaves that I’ve paired with my poinsettia are stamped with the leaf images from the Poinsettia Place Stamp Set. They’ve been coloured with my Mint Macaron Blends.

I cut the card base with a Rectangle Stitched Die and daubed Sahara Sand Ink on the Thick Whisper White Cardstock. To add some texture, I ran this piece through my embossing machine with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. I then added a combination of papers from the Poinsettia Place DSP pack. Once I was happy with the layering of my poinsettias and sentiment, I then took my favourite Braided Linen Thread and layered it amongst the flower and leaves. Three Gold Glitter Enamel Dots finished off this card.

Like my first card, my poinsettias are trimmed from the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper and the leaves are stamped from the Poinsettia Petals Stamp Set.  For this card, I added some stamped holly berries that have been cut with the Poinsettia Dies.

The DSP I’ve added to the base of my card is also from the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper pack. I took a piece of Sahara Sand Cardstock and daubed the edges before using my fingernail to rough up the cardstock.  One Gold Enamel Glimmer Dot was added to this card.

For my third card, I created my own poinsettia’s by cutting some poinsettia die cuts with the Poinsettia Dies. I took my Water Painter and some Sahara Sand Ink and added colour to the die cuts, adding a darker shade to the centre of the flowers.  I couldn’t resist adhering Beaded Pearls to the centre of the die cuts to make them pretty and bling-y. I kept my layering simple with this card to let the poinsettias shine.

I hope you like the projects I’ve created with these products. Make sure you check out all the wonderful projects the team have created. The next hop along the way is my very talented friend Nina Waldschmidt with her creations. Click here to take you to her blog or on the button below.

Just Add Ink #523

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge is to:

When I get a challenge like this, I think I’m going to get all creative choosing something like a technique I’ve never tried before, but usually end up going with the obvious – using a stamp set that starts with the letter A….

The stamp set I’ve used for my card is called All Things Fabulous. The pretty flowers are stamped in Roccco Rose Ink and then Cherry Cobbler Ink over the top to create definition in the centre of the flowers. The leaves have been stamped with a combination of Soft Sea Foam and Pear Pizzazz Inks.

The lattice effect background is from the Forever Gold Laser-Effect Specialty Paper. I’ve turned the gold paper over to expose the white back to it. I then used a couple of the gold leaves to add to my layering as well as some gold twine from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo pack. Three white Elegant Faceted Gems were used to add a pretty touch as well as make sure the lattice piece stayed in place.

The team at Just Add Ink have created wonderful cards for the challenge, head over to Just Add Ink and see what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches #453

Hey Everyone

I’m a little late posting this! There’s a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week our sketch hostess is the fabulously talented Judy Rozema.

Stampin’ Up!s In The Pines Bundle got some ink this week.  The large trees I’ve used on the In The Pines Stamp Set have been stamped in Black Memento Ink and the centre has been stamped with Bermuda Bay and Pool Party Inks.  The little trees were coloured with Pool Party Ink and cut with the Pine Wood Dies.

The Pine Wood Dies from the bundle created the background curve to my stitched circle die cut. I then added three little gems because I’m a bling-y girl.

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have made awesome cards with the sketch. Pop over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches #452

Hey Everyone

There’s a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches for you to play along with.  Our sketch designer is the amazingly talented Amy O’Neill. Amy’s cards are always full of fabulous colours and wonderful detail.

The sketch made me think of using flowers floating at the two corners of the card.  The flowers and sentiment I’ve used on my card are from the So Much Love Stamp Set. I’ve coloured my flowers with a combination of the yellow blends.  The larger flower on the bottom of the card has been coloured with the darkest of my blends – Mango Melody. I added some light Pool Party Ink daubing around the top flower all the way to the bottom flower to add some softness the white background.

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have made gorgeous cards with Amy’s sketch. Pop over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Just Add Ink #521

Hey Everyone

There’s a new challenge over at Just Add Ink.  This week is an inspiration picture challenge. Take a look at the pretty pic we have for you:

I’ve created a card using the colours, the flowers and the jars from the picture.  The jars I’ve added to my card are from the Jar of Flowers Stamp Set.  I stamped the images in Black Memento Ink and coloured the jars with some retired Rose Gold Shimmer Paint.

The flower image that I’ve used on my card is also from the Jar of Flowers Stamp Set. I’ve lightly coloured the image the Light Crumb Cake Blend. The leaves have been given some colour with my Call Me Clover Blends. I then took some Call Me Clover Cardstock and cut some leaves with the Forever Flourishing Dies. The sentiment I’ve added is from the Forever Fern Stamp Set – we could all use a sentiment like this for those friends at the moment.

The team at Just Add Ink have created wonderful cards using the inspiration picture from the challenge. Head over to Just Add Ink and see what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches #451

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday so that means a new sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches and this weeks sketch hostess is me! I’ve created a simple sketch but doesn’t mean I’ve kept my card simple. I LOVE details and layering.

The Flowering Blooms Stamp Set has been one I’ve been itching to use. The flowers in this stamp set were made for colouring. I’ve given the larger blooms some colour with Purple Posy and Highland Heather Blends.  The smaller flowers have been coloured with my Pool Party and Bermuda Bay Blends. The leaves have been shaded with Mint Macaron Blends. The flowers and leaves have all been fussy cut and layered on DSP from Peony Garden Designer Series Paper.  The sentiment I’ve used is also from the Flowering Blooms Stamp Set. Three Basic Rhinestone Jewels were added because my cards just aren’t complete without them.

Make sure you head over to the challenge and see the gorgeous creations the team have created with my sketch.

Thanks for stopping by.

CAS(E) this Sketch #387 & TGIF Challenge #279

Hey Everyone

I wasn’t done with my craft room after my earlier post. I headed back out there and looked around for challenges to keep creating. I didn’t think I had two more cards in me this afternoon, so I found two challenges and combined them for one card. The challenges I’ve entered are CAS(E) this Sketch and TGIF Challenge. Here are their challenge pics:

I love a bit of height to my cards.  In fact, it’s quite common for my cards to have four layers or even double-dimensionalise to get extra height. For the 3D element to this card, I created rolled roses – plus I think I’ve dimensionalised every layer as well.  The little flower and leaf images and sentiment are from the Fancy Phrases Stamp Set.  The images have been fussy cut and adhered with dimensionals.

The layout for this card is for the sketch challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge.  I love me a good sketch and this one is just fabulous. The background of my card has been colour with the Light Petal Pink Blend. You can’t quite see the strip of DSP I’ve added to my card, but there is a strip of Peony Garden DSP under the sentiment and cluster of roses.

Thanks for stopping by.

Global Design Project #255

Hey Everyone

I have to say, I’m actually enjoying my lockdown weekends. Only being allowed out to go to the supermarket and one hour of exercise a day, means more time in my craft room!  If only I could bring myself to clean it……

I’ve managed to play along with the latest challenge at Global Design Project. Take a look at their fab challenge:

I could’ve used pretty much all of my Stampin’ Up! Sets in my craft room for this challenge, as they almost all have leaves in them!  The set I’ve chosen is called Forever Fern Stamp Set.  The leaf images that I’ve stamped, in Mint Macaron and Smoky Slate, have been fussy cut and layered about the sentiment – also from the Forever Fern Stamp Set.  I love that this set also has background ink splatters – you can never have to many ink splatter stamps!

The designer series paper I’ve roughed up is from the Peony Gardens Designer Series Paper pack.  I also roughed up the edges of a piece of Mint Macaron Cardstock to layer underneath.  I added some Linen Thread strips and a Linen Thread Bow to finish off my card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #450

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch has been designed by my friend Karren Johnson – all the way over the other side of the ditch from me. One day I will get to see her beautiful country and touch all the sets she has in her craft room.

I went for a bit of fun with those circles. We could all use a smile couldn’t we? I saw letters instead of circle could be used and tried to think of abbreviations with three letters. After a couple of mishaps with letters that would be a tad rude if I’d used them, I came up with FMS! This card is for my girls at  Freshly  Made Sketches!

I’ve combined the letters with some foliage, because I had to give it some fullness.  The leaves I’ve stamped are from the Forever Fern Stamp Set.  They’ve been stamped in Pool Party and Bermuda Bay Inks. The designer series paper I’ve added to the background is from the Peony Garden DSP pack.

The rhinestones I’ve added to my card have been coloured with the Dark Bermuda Bay Blend so that they could match the colour scheme I created.

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have created wonderful cards using Karren’s sketch. Pop over to the challenge to see what they’ve created.

Global Design Project #254

Hey Everyone

The card I’m sharing today is for the challenge at the Global Design Project.  This week their challenge is a sketch challenge.

I’m on a Christmas card making roll.  It’s easy to do when I’ve got so many sets that I love creating with.  The stamp set I’ve used is called Poinsettia Petals.  I originally had the large poinsettia’s all coloured up ready to use, but when I placed them on my card, I felt they were a little bit too big.  So I stamped up four of the little ones and coloured them with a combination of Petal Pink and Calypso Coral Blends. The centre of them were coloured the the Dark Mango Melody Blend. I fussy cut them out and layered them with two images each stacked on each other.

The leaves for these poinsettia’s were cut with the Forever Flourishing Dies that I had discarded from another project and were siting on my desk.  I also had the Soft Suede Ink berries discarded from yet another project that I added to the card.  Love it when I can use up images and die cuts rather than bin them.

The background of my card has been daubed with Sahara Sand Ink and over this, I stamped the ink splatters image in Soft Suede Ink from the Forever Fern Stamp Set. I added a strip of DSP from the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper and added a sentiment from the Joy Dies and Peace & Joy Stamp Set.

Thanks for stopping by.
