Hey Everyone

There’s a new challenge for you to play along with over at Just Add Ink. This week is the following challenge:

For this challenge I searched for the biggest sentiment I have in my craft room. The dies I’ve used are called the Love For You Dies. I’ve paired them with flowers and leaves from the Cottage Rose Stamp Set. The pretty DSP I’ve added to my card is from the Abigail Rose DSP pack.

Freshly Made Sketches #570

Hey Everyone

The newest sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches has been designed by the wonderfully talented Jennifer Timko. Jen’s cards are always just divine so make sure you head over to her blog and see her creations.

As soon as I saw her sketch I knew I wanted to use a flower as the flower point for my card. The flowers and leaves I’ve coloured up are from the Cottage Rose Stamp Set.

The flowers were stamped in Black Memento Ink and coloured with the Blackberry Bliss Blends and Highland Heather Blends. The leaves were given colour with my Granny Apple Green Blends. All images were fussy cut out and raised up with Dimensionals.

The strip of DSP I’ve added to my card is from the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper Pack. I had a torn strip of cardstock sitting on my desk that I can’t remember the name of, so I tucked it under the DSP.

The background cardstock was shaded with Balmy Blue Ink and a Blending Brush. I then stamped the sentiment from the Cottage Rose Stamp Set. I love the size and fonts of this sentiment.

One Adhesive Backed Milky Dot was added as I feel my cards are a little naked without a bit of bling!

The girls at Freshly Made Sketches have created awesome cards that will inspire you to create one for yourself. Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Global Design Project #368

Hey Everyone

Had a bit of time today to play along with the latest challenge at Global Design Project. This week the challenge is a CASE challenge. The team are CASEing this gorgeous card below from the super talented Stesha Bloodhart.

I kept my card fairly neutral toned like Stesha’s and added pops of colours with the Cajun Craze ink I added to the Sunflowers. These sunflowers and leaves are from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set. I have more need for a birthday card so I added a sentiment from the You’re a Peach Stamp Set instead of one of the sentiments in the sunflowers set.

I added pieces of DSP from the Abigail Rose DSP pack. I roughed up the edges of both pieces of paper and used a dauber to add some Crumb Cake Ink also.

To add extra layers, I cut a square of Basic White Cardstock and some banner die cuts with the Stylish Shapes Dies. These die cuts were placed under the flowers and a Linen Thread bow was added.

Thanks for stopping by.

Global Design Project #367

Hey Everyone

I’ve joined in with the tree challenge at Global Design Project today. I love tree challenges as much as I love flower challenges!

The card I created is for my nephew and his partners’ baby shower. I created a neutral coloured card as we’re not sure if they’ve having a boy or a girl.

When I think of baby cards, I reach for my fav stamp set with the cutest images for a baby – it’s a retired set called Fable Friends.

I coloured the images up with Smoky Slate and Parakeet Party Blends. The images were fussy cut out and layered with trees cut with dies from the Majestic Mountain Dies. I added some strips of Parakeet Party and Basic Gray Cardstock to a piece of DSP from the Abigail Rose DSP. I then added a die cut circle of DSP, also from the Abigail Rose DSP.

Around these layers, I tied a bow of White Crinkled Seam Binding and added three Classic Matte Dots.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #625

Hey Everyone

There’s a new challenge for you to play along with over at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge for you is to:

How pretty is this inspiration pic?

Stampin’ Up! have given me the perfect DSP to colour and fussy cut out for this challenge. This DSP is from a pack called Abigail Rose. The ledger print DSP is also from this pack. I roughed up the edges of this DSP as well as added Crumb Cake Ink around the edges to give it a worn look. The Basic White Cardstock piece behind the DSP has been embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder and also given the worn and torn edges.

Under the flower images, I added diecuts that I had sitting on my desk and a bow made with the Gold and Satin Edged Ribbon. My favourite sentiment from the Cottage Rose Stamp Set was added to finish off the card.

The team have created awesome cards for this challenge, so make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #556

Hey Everyone

There’s a new sketch to play along with over at Freshly Made Sketches. Our sketch designer is the uber talented Amy O’Neill – creator of all things glorious!

Amy’s sketch had me picturing so many different stamp sets to use, but I finally decided on the these pretty flower images from the Happiness Abounds Stamp Set. I coloured these flowers with my Smoky Slate Blends just for something different. The leaves are fussy cut from the designer series paper pack called Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper. These leaves have been coloured with the Mint Macaron Blends and fussy cut out.

The striped DSP and the strip across the card are also from the Abigail Rose DSP pack. I added a thin strip of Basic Gray Cardstock under the piece going across the card. On this layer I added a bow made from the Bakers Twine Essentials Pack.

The sentiment I’ve layered is from the Happiness Abounds Stamp Set. This sentiment was stamped and trimmed into two sentiments.

The team have created awesome projects. Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by,

Freshly Made Sketches #555

Hey Everyone

There’s a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches to play along with. This weeks sketch designer is me! I’ve come up with the following sketch for you all.

My initial sketch pretty much had a shape in every corner, but I tamed it and left only two shapes. My card however, is filled with details.

I love the dramatic-ness of black, white and yellow together. My card was designed around the diecut sentiment. This die is from the Sending Dies. You can purchase the dies separately or as part of the Sending Smiles Bundle.

The flowers I’ve coloured up are from the Happiness Abound Stamp Set. Each of the flowers have been coloured with a combination of every yellow blend that I own and fussy cut out. The leaves that I have tucked under each of the blooms has been fussy cut from the Perfectly Penciled DSP.

The yellow DSP I’ve layered over the Basic Black Cardstock is from the Hues of Happiness DSP. The circle diecut notebook type paper is from the Abigail Rose DSP. I really have given my card a mix of DSPs, images and sentiments!

Hope you get a chance to play along with the sketch. Make sure you head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what they team have created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #554

Hey Everyone

We have a new sketch to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our design hostess is my friend from down under across the ditch – Karren Johnson. Take a look at her fab sketch:

I almost went a little vintage-y with this card mainly because the DSP strip I added to the background has that vintage vibe. I had to hold myself back from roughing up the edges and add some ink to the edges to the embossed Basic White Cardstock. The cardstock was embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. On this cardstock I added a Kraft Cardstock diecut that I had sitting on my desk, the strip of DSP from the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper Pack.

I then took my blends and coloured images from another piece of DSP from the same DSP pack. Once coloured, I then fussy cut out the images and raised them up on Dimensionals. A birthday sentiment was added and a Linen Thread bow.

Three white Classic Matte Dots were added for that bit of bling I like. Because they’re subtle they don’t overpower the roses, which was the look I was going for.

Here’s my card:

Just Add Ink #617

Hey Everyone

There’s a new challenge for you to play along with over at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge is for you to:

I’ve gone with a square card for a change. It started as a rectangle card, but as I was playing around wth the DSP I had cut (maybe I should measure twice and cut once in future…) I felt there was better balance overall with a square design. The two items I chosen to feature on my card are – Dots and Diecuts.

The papers I’ve used are from two different DSP packs. The black and white spotted paper is from the Perfectly Pencilled Designer Series Paper pack and the petal pink striped DSP is from the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper Pack. Because of my miscalculation of size and the messing around I did, I had to cut a strip of Basic Black Cardstock to fill the space in between them.

After adhering all of these together, I cut a circle diecut and raised it up with Dimensionals. On this circle, I added a Basic White flower diecut cut with a die from the Artistic Dies. I fussy cut some black and white leaves from the Perfectly Pencilled DSP and layered them under some stamped flowers from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set.

A sentiment from Artistically Inked Stamp Set finished off my card. I love how this sentiment fits every card and is just the right font for masculine or feminine cards. I have raised this sentiment up with Dimensionals – maybe even double Dimensionals.

The team at Just Add Ink have created wonderful cards to inspire you. Head over to Just Add Ink and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.
