Freshly Made Sketches #701

Hey Everyone

Welcome to the newest challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch hostess is Jen Brum. Gee I love her sketch as much as I love her!

I instantly thought of a line up of tools when i saw her sketch, so I brought out the Trusty Tools Stamp Set and gave the images some colour and fussy cut them out. I initially layered them to the Basic White Cardstock background and thought it looked a little bland, so I took out the Trusty Tools Dies and diecut the background with the tool plate type die and added some holes to the cardstock. I then flicked some ink over the cardstock as well to dirty it up. From the dies, I then diecut some screws and added them to the mix. Some retired thread was added, just because I could – details are always hard to add for masculine cards.

The team have created wonderful cards for this challenge. Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #700

Welcome to our 700th sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches!!!!!!! How exciting is that? I played along with the very first challenge at Freshly Made Sketches and I was lucky enough to be chosen to be on the design team from the 76th challenge. Unfortunately my blog when awol for that time, so I can’t find my original post to link to…. But here is a photo of that card I made for my first DT assignment – which btw, I am not loving in 2025… Do you all look back and cards from years ago and say “yeah, nah – I’m not a fan of it anymore?”

The Design Team have decided to re-create cards for this weeks challenge from the very first sketech challenge at FMS. Take a look at the sketch and the card I created for it below.

The Charming Day Stamp Set and Dies got a work out for this card with the background Elements of Text and Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder.

The design team have created wonderful cards for this weeks challenge. We hope you can join us in our 700th sketch challenge!

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #699

Hey Everyone

It’s time for the 699th challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. That’s alot of sketch challenges! Make sure you come back next week for our big 700th sketch! For this weeks challenge our designer is one fabulous card maker – Verena Shapiro. Take a look at her sketch:

I combined Pool Party and Pecan Pie for this card, plus a piece of stripey Smoky Slate DSP in the background,

For the circle component, I fussy cut some organic circles and stamped the Basic White Cardstock with a script stamp from Elements of Text Stamp Set. The gorgeous flowers and leaves images are from the Charming Day Stamp Set. I added colour to the leaves and flowers with Crumb Cake and Pool Party Blends. I then cut some Pecan Pie Cardstock leafy diecuts made with the Charming Day Dies.

I love what the team have created with this weeks sketch. Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they design team have created.

Freshly Made Sketches #697

Hey Everyone

Welcome to the newest challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch designer is Linda Callahan, creator of all things gorgeous.

I thought of butterflies when I saw this sketch, so I took out the Beautiful Butterflies Stamp Set. I coloured up two butterfly images and fussy cut them out. I then cut some leafy diecuts in Basic White and Mossy Meadow Cardstocks. The DSP I’ve used is from the Country Lace DSP pack. I always keep my strips and off cuts so I had plenty of these in my scraps.

The team have created wonderful cards that will no doubt inspire you. Head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #695

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday, so that means a new sketch challenge to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch designer is the wonderfully talented and super fab Jen Timko.

Don’t you just love a great sketch? I instantly knew i wanted to use the Notes and Totes Dies to be the focal point on my card. To the tote bag I’ve created, I added some of my favourite images from the retired Dressed to Impress Stamp Set as they work so well with the tote bag. The background oval shape was hand cut and stamped with Elements of Text Stamp Set – just for an extra bit of detail.

Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they team have created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hey Everyone

Tis time for a new challenge to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch hostess is Michelle Ferguson. Michelle is one of our new team members who has designed us a fabulous sketch. Make sure you head over to her blog and check our her gorge creations:

I am trying to use up offcuts and discarded images from other projects from my stash. I’ve had this DSP and flowers leftover just waiting to use. Glad to get them on a project before I ruined them by spilling coffee on them…

Freshly Made Sketches #690

Hey Everyone

Yep – I’ m a day late again with posting this card for the latest sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. Lots going on and I’m not even sure what day it is most days….

Our sketch hostess at Freshly Made Sketches this week is Karren Johnson. You would all be familiar with Karrens stunning cards she creates as they’re always so detailed and perfectly coloured.

I chose a neutral colour scheme for this card and added colour with the pops of pink in the butterflies. I had an idea of colouring my butterflies yellow and black, but totally changed it up and made them a tad bolder in colour. These butterflies are from the Sketched Butterflies Stamp Set and the leaves have been die cut with the Thankful Garden Dies – loving these so much.

Freshly Made Sketches #689

Hey Everyone

There’s a new sketch to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch hostess is Cecile Ribon – creator of all things elegant.

I cheated with the flowers on this card as I just fussy cut them from DSP. This DSP is called Floral Delight and when you’re having a lazy creative day, it’s a delight to not think about colouring images. The leaves I’ve fussy cut have been stamped from the Spotlight on Nature Stamp Set. All in all, a fairly quick card to create!

Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what the design team at Freshly Made Sketches have created using Cecile’s sketch.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #680

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday so that means a new sketch challenge to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. This week it’s my turn to be sketch hostess.

I took colours from the pretty designer series paper I’ve added to the background for my flowers. So my flowers are a combination of Smoky Slate and Lost Lagoon. The DSP I’ve added is from the Everyday Happiness Designer Series Paper pack.

The flowers that have been coloured and fussy cut, are from the Thankful Garden Stamp Set. I’ve added Basic White Cardstock leaves to balance out all the colours. These leaves are made with a leafy die from the Thankful Garden Stamp Set.

The team have created awesome cards that make my sketch look good. Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.
