Just Add Ink #662

Hey Everyone

It’s Friday here in Australia, so that means we have a new challenge over at Just Add Ink for you to play along with.

I really wanted to use these pretty paper from the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper pack. This paper was the starting point to my card. From there I decided to keep my card with a mostly blue colour scheme. I added tinges of Smoky Slate Ink in the leaves I’ve stamped and tucked under the daisies. Or maybe they’re a new breed of flowers as I don’t think there are any blue daisies…

These blue flowers are from the Delightful Daisies Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Black Memento Ink and coloured the petals with my blue blends. I took the Dark Smoky Slate Blend and added colour to the centre of the flowers.

I shaded the background beneath the flowers with a Blending Brush and Balmy Blue Ink. I then added some die cut leaves. These leaves are from the Textured Floral Dies.

As always, the team at Just Add Ink have created awesome projects. Make sure you head over to the challenge and check out their creations.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #660

Hey Everyone

There’s a new challenge to play along with over at Just Add Ink. This week the challenge is to:

I’ve created a card with leaf inlays. The die set I’ve used for the leaves is called Aspen Dies. I used two of the dies to cut the die cuts out of my Basic White Cardstock. I then took a Blending Brushy and Balmy Blue Ink and added shading around the holes left from the dies. To add a little more interest to the cardstock, I flicked ink from a Dark Smoky Slate Blend over the shading.

I love a black and white DSP strip down the edge of cards. This DSP is from the Zoo Crew DSP pack. To this i added a thin strip of Crumb Cake Cardstock. Both of these were added to the decorated/diecut Cardstock. I then added dimensionals to this cardstock and adhered it to my card base. I then adhered the original leafy diecuts back in place but adhered them directly to the base card – while all the rest was raised.

I then sent about colouring this lil fatty bird with my Crumb Cake Blends. He is from the Perched in a Tree Stamp Set. The leaves I added behind him have been watercoloured on to Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper. I actually had these sitting from another project and instead of heaving them in the bin, I kept them for a project just like this one!

Hey Everyone

The challenge at Just Add Ink this week is an inspiration picture. Take a look at the pic:

My card is made up of images from the Easter Bunny Stamp Set. I coloured the images and fussy cut them out. I then created grass by trimming Garden Green Cardstock into strips and adhered it around the bunnies.

Just Add Ink #640

Hey Everyone

This weeks challenge at Just Add Ink has been exactly that for me – a challenge. Mainly because I wanted to try something different for me and once I had the idea of doing it, I HAD to follow through until I was finished. Not 100% sure it’s a favourite of mine, but it will do.

I started searching around Pinterest for a card with a surprise detail and came across this really cool video by Laura Volpes.

My idea for my card was born.

I added flowers from the Cottage Rose Stamp Set that have been coloured with Petal Pink and Real Red Blends. The leaves were coloured with both of my Granny Apple Green Blends and fussy cut out.

For the surprise feature, I added a stamped sentiment and flowers from the same stamp set and quickly coloured the flowers in with the Petal Pink Blends.

A die cut sentiment from the Love For You Dies was cut with Basic Black and Basic White Cardstock and added to the top flower because I love details and a certain fullness to my cards.

You can see more of the detail of the flowers and sentiment when the panel is lifted higher. I also took the Light Basic Black Blend and flicked ink across the cardstock as I feel it needed more. I couldn’t stop there – I had to add pearls, a ribbon for the pull tab that has been tied together with a Linen Thread Bow.

Make sure you visit Just Add Ink and check out what the team have created, Their projects are amazing.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #638

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge for you to play along with over at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge for you is to:

When I went looking For a stamp set with candles, I realised I don’t have many… Or maybe I do, but I have too many stamp sets to look through. They’re shoved in so many different places that I gave up after about 1/2 hr.

So I decided to make my own candles. I took some DSP from the Dandy Design DSP pack and rolled them up to create my own candles. To create the flames, I took my blends and drew shapes that I hope resemble flame tips.

I embossed a piece of Basic White Cardstock with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder and cut it in to three pieces. I layered then on another piece of patterned DSP from the Dandy Designs pack.

Once I adhered my layers together, I wanted a little bit of something else, so I stamped a leaf from the Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set and coloured it with my Fresh Freesia Blends. A added a “Celebrate” sentiment and a bow to finish off my card.

The team at Just Add Ink have created awesome cards. Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Just Add Ink #633

Hey Everyone

There is a new challenge for you to play along with over at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge is a colour challenge.

I decided to give these colours a try on a Christmas card. I actually like this combo for a festive card and may use it again!

The stamp set I’ve used on my card is called Christmas Season. The pine cones were stamped in Basic Gray Ink. The bottom stamp was inked up and stamped off on scrap paper to lighten the colour and then stamped on cardstock. I then used full strength Basic Gray Ink for the top stamp. The pine cones were then fussy cut out.

Both type of leaves were inked up with Bermuda Bay Ink and stamped on cardstock. I then a Bermuda Bay pencil and added shading to each leaf to add dimension. The berries were stamped in Sweet Sorbet Ink and fussy cut out.

The diecut I added under my sentiment was watercoloured with Bermuda Bay Ink and placed under the diecut sentiment so you could see it better.

I gave the background cardstock shading with a Blending Brush and Bermuda Bay Ink and Bermuda Bay Blend flicks.

Just Add Ink #629

Hey Everyone

It’s new challenge time at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge for you is to:

One of my fav “winged” stamp sets is a retired Stampin’ Up! set called Free As A Bird. These birds are perfect for colouring and I really love the artwork in them.

I’ve paired my birds with flowery and leafy images from the Blessings of Home Stamp Set. I lightly coloured the flowers and leaves so that the birds stood out against the foliage. The sentiment was one I had stamped and lay discarded on my desk. I have forgotten what set it was from at the time of typing this… The DSP I’ve used is also retired, it’s called Heart & Home DSP. I matted this with Pool Party Cardstock and layered it on a Basic White card base.

The team at Just Add Ink have created wonderful projects. Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Just Add Ink #625

Hey Everyone

There’s a new challenge for you to play along with over at Just Add Ink. This week our challenge for you is to:

How pretty is this inspiration pic?

Stampin’ Up! have given me the perfect DSP to colour and fussy cut out for this challenge. This DSP is from a pack called Abigail Rose. The ledger print DSP is also from this pack. I roughed up the edges of this DSP as well as added Crumb Cake Ink around the edges to give it a worn look. The Basic White Cardstock piece behind the DSP has been embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder and also given the worn and torn edges.

Under the flower images, I added diecuts that I had sitting on my desk and a bow made with the Gold and Satin Edged Ribbon. My favourite sentiment from the Cottage Rose Stamp Set was added to finish off the card.

The team have created awesome cards for this challenge, so make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.
