Global Design Project #407

Hey Everyone

This weeks challenge at Global Design Project is a themed challenge. See their inspiration pic below:

My water creatures that I’ve added to my card are crab and shell images from the Stamp Set. I’ve coloured both images with my blends and fussy cut them out. I added a coral diecut made with Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper. The reason for this is because it’s not a bright white and therefore contrasted against white the cardstock. Leafy stems were added as well as Linen Thread coloured with the Bronze Blend.

Thanks for stopping by.

From the inspiration pic, I took the colours as well as flight. I took the following colours – turquoise, pink, black and white.

The flight of my butterflies were taken from the skier. The pretty butterflies I’ve used are from the Night of Flight Stamp Set.

I used the background script stamp from the Gorgeously Made Stamp Set and diecuts from the matching die set.

The team at Just Add Ink have created awesome inspiration for you. Make sure you head over to Just Add Ink and see what they’ve created.

Global Design Project #405

Hey Everyone

Love my weekends when I can craft, this weekend wasn’t one of them. I did however manage to get one card made. I created this card for the latest colour challenge at Global Design Project.

The card I created features butterflies from the Night of Flight Stamp Set combined with leaves from the Gorgeously Made Stamp Set. The leaves were stamped in Wild Wheat and fussy cut out. The butterflies were shaded with my Wild Wheat and Pebbled Path Blends.

Just Add Ink #664

Hey Everyone

Who’s ready for a new colour challenge at Just Add Ink? Myself and the Design Team are!

This week our colours for you to create with are:

Can you believe this card started off quite plain? It then grew in to this…lotsa layers and details.

The stamp set I’ve used is called Hello Ladybug. It had been neglected so I decided to give it the ink love and came up with this.

I used two embossing folders from the Basics 3D Embossing Folders pack. I added diecuts cut with the Countryside Corners Dies. I’ve layered these dies with images stamped from the Hello Ladybug Stamp Set. Because you can never have too many details, I added some flowers from the same stamp set.

The team have created awesome cards using these colours. Head over to Just Add Ink and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #597

Hey Everyone

The newest sketch at Freshly Made Sketches has been designed by the wonderfully talented Jacquie Southas. Take a look at her fab sketch:

The card I created features the Queen Bee Stamp Set and matching Queen Bee Dies. I started off with a clean background but then felt it lacked a little bit of something so I shaded ink to the Basic White Cardstock and flicked the nib of the Dark Smoky Slate Blend to create splatters.

I then added by images and die cuts. A birthday sentiment and three gold gems finished off my card.

The team have created awesome cards – make sure you head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what they’ve created.

Just Add Ink #662

Hey Everyone

It’s Friday here in Australia, so that means we have a new challenge over at Just Add Ink for you to play along with.

I really wanted to use these pretty paper from the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper pack. This paper was the starting point to my card. From there I decided to keep my card with a mostly blue colour scheme. I added tinges of Smoky Slate Ink in the leaves I’ve stamped and tucked under the daisies. Or maybe they’re a new breed of flowers as I don’t think there are any blue daisies…

These blue flowers are from the Delightful Daisies Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Black Memento Ink and coloured the petals with my blue blends. I took the Dark Smoky Slate Blend and added colour to the centre of the flowers.

I shaded the background beneath the flowers with a Blending Brush and Balmy Blue Ink. I then added some die cut leaves. These leaves are from the Textured Floral Dies.

As always, the team at Just Add Ink have created awesome projects. Make sure you head over to the challenge and check out their creations.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #658

Hey Everyone

This weeks challenge at Just Add Ink is to:

I’m a keeper of scraps and strips, so this challenge was easy for me. It’s a great challenge to use up all of those strips that I cut off my cardstock. I tore an edge off all of the strips and adhered them down in a pattern of Basic White Cardstock and Smoky Slate Cardstock.

I then added some flowers from the Textured Floral Stamp Set that were stamped in a combination of Pool Party Ink and Basic Gray Ink.

I then cut lots of leafy diecuts from the Textured Floral Dies and added them under the flowers. A sentiment was added as well as three sequins.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #656

Hey Everyone

There’s a new challenge over at Just Add Ink.This week is inspiration pic week. Take a look at the pic we have for you:

I was going to go with a sunset reflection type scene, but i couldn’t come up with anything that I liked, so I created a floral creation instead using the colours from the inspiration pic.

The pretty daisies I’ve used for my card are from the Cheerful Daisies Stamp Set. I’ve given them a quick colour with my blends.

The background was shaded and I then flicked ink over the shading.

Here’s my card:

Make sure you check out the wonderful cards the DT have created at Just Add Ink.

Just Add Ink #652

Hey Everyone

There’s a new challenge to play along with at Just Add Ink. This week is a sketch challenge. Take a look at the sketch we have for you to play with:

For this card I reached for an oldie, but a goodie stamp set called Artistically Inked. This stamp set has matching dies called Artistic Dies.

I created an ombre panel of cardstock to layer my flowers on. I then layered this over the card base which has been given detail with my Artistic Mix Decorative Masks and ink splatters.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #585

Hey Everyone

Love Wednesday’s as that means a new challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch has been designed by the wonderfully talented Judy Rozema. Take a look at her cool sketch:

For some reason the strips in the sketch had me wanting to use the Seaside Bay Stamp Set and matching Seaside Bay Dies.

I started by stamping a couple of birds from the Seaside Bay Stamp Set and coloured them with my Boho Blue Blends and Light Night of Navy Blends. I then stamped the oyster shell image and lightly coloured it with the Ivory Blend. I then took the Color Lifter and removed quite a bit of the ink.

I then took some Crumb Cake Cardstock and the oyster shell die to cut the shell. I then took a Blending Brush and Crumb Cake Ink and added touches of ink to the edges of the die cut. I took the small shell die and Basic White Cardstock and cut out the shell. I also added touches of Crumb Cake Ink to the edges of this shell.

There are leafy dies in the Seaside Bay Dies, but they are a little smaller than what I wanted for my card, so I took my scissors and created my own.

Once all my fancy fits were done, I layered them all on strips of Boho Blue Cardstock. I took some Linen Thread that I twisted and added to my layers. It felt a bit clean, so I covered up my images with paper, took my Light Night of Navy Blend and flicked ink splatters over the cardstock.

The team have created awesome cards using Judy’s sketch. Make sure you head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.
