Freshly Made Sketches #602

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch designer is Kim Singdahlsen. Kim’s creation are always amazing and I love her attention to detail.

My card features butterflies from the Night of Flight Stamp Set. I am loving these butterflies as they are perfect for colouring and seem to be my go-to at the moment for layering on cards. I just love their artwork!

I’ve given them colour with my Tahitian Tide and Smoky Slate Blends. I then fussy cut them out. I had some leafy diecuts sitting on my desk, so I decided to add them to the card. The set these diecuts are from is called Textured Floral Dies.

I diecut the edge of a piece of Smoky Slate Cardstock with the notebook edge die from the Gorgeously Made Dies and added it under the Basic White Cardstock. On this cardstock I stamped the script stamp from the Gorgeously Made Stamp Set. I added an embossed piece of Pebbled Pathy Cardstock and an offcut piece of Basic Black Cardstock.

An embossed sentiment on Basic Black Cardstock was added as well as some Simply Elegant Trim and some Basic Rhinestones.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hey Everyone

Welcome to our newest sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch has been designed by the wonderfully talented Linda Callahan.

The card I created features a shaded background and blue butterflies. The butterflies are coloured with my blue blends and fussy cut out. These butterflies are from the Night of Flight Stamp Set. I’ve nestled them on diecuts leaves from the Gorgeously Made Dies. I then heat embossed a sentiment on Misty Moonlight Cardstock.I added a diecut trim that was laying on my desk to the mix also. The papers I’ve added to the card are from from Countryside Inn DSP pack.

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have created awesome cards. Make sure you head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches #597

Hey Everyone

The newest sketch at Freshly Made Sketches has been designed by the wonderfully talented Jacquie Southas. Take a look at her fab sketch:

The card I created features the Queen Bee Stamp Set and matching Queen Bee Dies. I started off with a clean background but then felt it lacked a little bit of something so I shaded ink to the Basic White Cardstock and flicked the nib of the Dark Smoky Slate Blend to create splatters.

I then added by images and die cuts. A birthday sentiment and three gold gems finished off my card.

The team have created awesome cards – make sure you head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches#594

Hey Everyone

This weeks sketch at Freshly Made Sketches has been designed by me! I create a sketch at the last minute always with no idea what I stamp set or colours I’m going to use, but in the end it usually comes together.

My stamp set of choice was the Perched in a Tree Stamp Set. I used this set mainly because it was sitting on my desk from a card I’d made on the same day as this one. All of my recent cards were made a few weeks ago before my latest round of hand surgery.

This stamp set features a pudgy little bird, ink splatters and a bare branch tree. I’ve used all of these images on my card. I kept my mostly black and white so that my yellow and grey bird pops.

The three leaf diecuts I’ve added to my card are from the Aspen Dies that coordinate with the stamp set. To tie in with the colour scheme, I heat embossed a sentiment on Basic Black Cardstock.

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have made my sketch look good with their gorgeous cards. Make sure you head over to Freshly Made Sketches and check out what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches #590

Hey Everyone

There’s a new sketch to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch hostess is the super talented Kim Singhahlsen.

Kim’s sketch had me thinking baby card for some reason. The stamp set I’ve used for my card is called Little Dreamers. These little images are the cutest and ready for colouring. I’ve coloured the images with a combination of Smoky Slate and Gray Granite Blends. The star the lion is holding has been coloured with my Pool Party Blends.

The background Basic White Cardstock has been stamped with the stars stamp and Pool Party Ink. This gives a little interest to the background.

For the strips of cardstock, I have used Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Pretty Peacock Cardstocks. The clouds have been cut out with the matching dies to the stamp set. These dies are called Little Dreamer Dies. The moon was also cut out with these dies.

The team have created awesome projects. Make sure you head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches #586

Hey Everyone

We have a new sketch challlenge over at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch has been design by the wonderfully talented Jacquie Southas.

I recently got the Zoo Crew DSP pack. I love the cute little images on all of the papers, so I decided to use two of them on my card. I fussy cut these images out and added them to my card. This DSP is perfect to add straight to your card as they are already coloured and cute as can be.The strip of DSP that was added to my card is also from the Zoo Crew DSP and the little balloons I’ve added have been cut with the Zany Zoo Dies.

The sentiment I’ve added to my card is from the Biggest Wish Stamp Set. I love the size of the sentiments in this stamp set and I know I will use them quite a bit.

Here’s the card I created:

Freshly Made Sketches #585

Hey Everyone

Love Wednesday’s as that means a new challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch has been designed by the wonderfully talented Judy Rozema. Take a look at her cool sketch:

For some reason the strips in the sketch had me wanting to use the Seaside Bay Stamp Set and matching Seaside Bay Dies.

I started by stamping a couple of birds from the Seaside Bay Stamp Set and coloured them with my Boho Blue Blends and Light Night of Navy Blends. I then stamped the oyster shell image and lightly coloured it with the Ivory Blend. I then took the Color Lifter and removed quite a bit of the ink.

I then took some Crumb Cake Cardstock and the oyster shell die to cut the shell. I then took a Blending Brush and Crumb Cake Ink and added touches of ink to the edges of the die cut. I took the small shell die and Basic White Cardstock and cut out the shell. I also added touches of Crumb Cake Ink to the edges of this shell.

There are leafy dies in the Seaside Bay Dies, but they are a little smaller than what I wanted for my card, so I took my scissors and created my own.

Once all my fancy fits were done, I layered them all on strips of Boho Blue Cardstock. I took some Linen Thread that I twisted and added to my layers. It felt a bit clean, so I covered up my images with paper, took my Light Night of Navy Blend and flicked ink splatters over the cardstock.

The team have created awesome cards using Judy’s sketch. Make sure you head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches #584

Hey Everyone

It’s new sketch challenge time at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch hostess is the wonderfully talented Linda Callahan.

A new catalogue means I have so many choices for sets to use on my cards. The stamp set I’ve inked up for the first time for this card is called the Cheerful Daisies Stamp Set. This set has two stamps for each daisy – one for the outline and one can be inked up to colour the flower. Instead of using the second stamp, I coloured my daisies with my Daffodil Delight Blends. For the centre of the flowers, I took my Light Smoky Slate Blend and added shadows to create depth.

The leaves are also from the Cheerful Daisies Stamp Set. They have been stamped with Garden Green Ink. I stamped the leaf on to Basic White Cardstock and then stamped the leaf again without inking up the stamp. This gave me a lighter shade of green for some of the leaves. All images were fussy cut out.

The team have created awesome cards. Make sure you head over to Freshly Made Sketches to see what they have created.
